Almost home.

I'm sitting at the Atlanta airport waiting for my plane to board. Soon I'll be back in Pittsburgh. I come back to Pittsburgh the same but a completely different woman. I come back with more knowledge of the business I crave so dearly, I come back with more fire,  I come back a fighter. Even though some would say I work my ass off, I know its not nearly enough. I know what areas I need to improve in, so I must overwhelm myself f in getting it perfected. Writing is something I usually only do when Im inspired by something, but now I must write everyday...I have no idea what may come out. In two weeks I leave for Denmark for more writing sessions with John Gordan and Henrick Hylle.  I had  a lot of great things come out of our last writing session...so I'm hoping for the same. I'm going to be VERY prepared this time. Im also hoping to write with Lene Dissing too.....I just adore her!

My last day in Europe was a very productive last day, even though I'm still a little sick I didn't want to waste another hour in my hotel room. I had a meeting and lunch with one of the sponsors (Eurocentres) of Coole Schule (Switzerland School Tour). This year they (Eurocentres) decided to be the main sponsor for the tour this year. I'm really glad they are going to be the main sponsor, I love what they are about, and it fits exactly to what Coole Schule is about. We're working together to fill in the gaps between people. We're bringing in different cultures and languages together. Sometimes kids hate to learn more than they need to know....I can relate because I was one of these kids! Ha! So Coole Schule has a differnt approach to learning a new language, with music! The kids have a great time with Coole Schule, and they dont even realize they are learning. Eurocentres comes in to play because we then hope the kids will fall in love with wanting to keep learning the language. I am so happy to be a part of this tour and I can't wait to make this year more successful.

Anyways the meeting with Andreas was fun...but lunch was even better! :-) Andreas is so awesome, he has a great personality and is so passionate about what he does. The food was soooo goood, but unfortunately I was sill a little sick and couldnt eat that much. When the waitress brought around the desert cart I had to force myself to get this cute little goose pasty....I ate its head first *evil gin*!!

After lunch I had to go back to my hotel to get ready for my last gig. It was another disco, so I knew it was going to be fun....but wasn't to excited about how late the night was going to be! After sound check we had about 4 hrs to waste before I went on, so Oliver and I decided to drive around and waste gas. We were having fun telling stories and laughing when we came up with a great idea. We then   decided to go through the drive thru at McDonald's and sing my new song Delicious to them. Hahaha. I ordered a hamburger without onions and told them.."you're so Delicious...you're so delicious.. oh and can I have a coke too?" The lady was sooo confused and probably though I was on drugs. Oli videotaped the entire thing...it was pretty funny and really stupid at the same time! Maybe in the near future i'll post it! Hahaha....! We raced back to the club so I could  get dressed and what not.... and to my surprise I had a special guest! Andreas and his friend Chris came!!! Oh Gawd I was soo excited...they are both so fun. I mean beyond fun...! They promised to take me out in June when I come back to the beach and a few of the dance clubs :-D! The gig went awesome....and again I ripped my stockings and got a few new bruises! Didn't lose my shoes this time though....hahahaha! I love the energy the kids have,  feed off of it so much. It was a great last day.

Packing lasted more than I would have liked and when I crawled into bed it was after 4am...and I had to be up at 6am to catch my flight. That's rock n roll baby!

Wow I spent so much time writing this and its already time to board. Thanks for being so so wonderful again Europe. You always treat me so well and always give me so much...don't ever let me go.

I am so happy somone took pictures...because dummy me forgot my camera! Damn I love my dress so much haha :-D Note that in some of the pictures you can see where I lost my heels!

Remember, Remember, Remember, Remember.

I finally have a whole day to myself to sleep. Not because I want to, but because I have the flu :-(, there is nothing worse. Sometimes my body doesn't want to work as hard as I want it to. I feel so angry that I have been put back a day, but I feel myself starting to get better.

So let me get started about Midem. It was such an experience. No sleep. Long parties. Meetings. Stress. It was awesome. I met with some of the most important people in the business, people that have had success beyond my wildest dreams. Funny thing was most of them were down to earth and super hilarious.  Monday night was the showcase, a ton of  important A&R's, Agents, managers, producers and what not were there. Let me tell you I was a wreck! I'm usually super cool and easy going about gigs...but this was bigger than I ever realized. To me first impressions are everything...and I was finally going to be able to make a first impression with people in the business that matter. After some tears, choice words, and some prayer I finally felt ready. The butterflies were flying.

In the end....it went amazing. Of course there were things I could have done better, but Im always my biggest critic. I had so many fabulous feedback's and words of encouragement. Some even asked if I was lip syncing! Gahh what a compliment! Of course I wasn't, I only sing live. They asked because Im quite a freak on stage, during the performance I lost my 6 inch heels, ripped my stockings and bruised my arm. Haha.

The guy I had to impress the most was my man Manfred. He is the badass from Iceberg Records that signed me to his label (together with Solymar Music). Thing was...he has never heard me sing live or perform, so he was taking a big risk on his part. Ughhh pressure, pressure, pressure. The cigar smoking badass had me pretty nervous, but in the end he was quite happy and satisfied. He even said I surprised him...(why thank you Manny!) A funny story about Manfred was when I first met him I asked him if I could call him Manny...he looked at me stern and said "NO!" HAHA, let's just say now its a running joke and usually call him Manny anyways. At the end of emails to him we always say "Manny Manny Thanks"...get it?! Haha :-) Okay from this point on I promise to always call him Manfred. :-)

The parties lasted all night long, I was soo impressed by the people who could last on one or two hours of sleep after all the free drinks! I was the smart one and kept throwing mine on the floor! Everyone was wondering why I took that shot of tequila so easily....water silly!! Shhh!! I had a great time dancing and chatting to everyone, all in all the parties were pretty bomb.

Well after four days of partying, no sleep, endless meetings and dinners we had to leave beautiful Cannes, France. The night we got back from Zurich I had a wonderful live acoustic gig. It went very well except I was losing my voice (stupid flu!)...thank god people couldn't tell :-). I played with a wonderful guitarist, Dominick. He kills me on how good his skills are..!!

It's getting pretty late and I must get my sleep so I can feel my best tomorrow. I just wanted to take this part to thank everyone that is putting their time and money into me. Since the very beginning of my career I have not paid a penny out of my pocket. Now I am just shocked and thankful for the faith Manfred Zähringer has in me. He has had soooo much success over the years and is one of the most hardest working people in the business. (With on artist he has sold over 8 million records worldwide) Oliver Meyer, my wonderful manager who signed me and is helping me find my way.  Thank you guys for all the money YOU invest in me. The flights, hotels, food and trips are all paid for out of your pocket for you think I am worth the investment.
I promise you with my entire heart and soul that I will make it worth it. Without you guys I wouldn't be able to afford to do any of this, for I know how expensive it is. So thank you for your faith!!!

Unfortunately I didnt take hardly any pictures! I am sooo dumb. Here are a few that some wonderful people sent to me :-)

Me and Manfred :-) (the sun was sooo bright!)

Awww Tommy...he is such a teddy bear at heart.
Johnathan from G-Pop and my ghetto manager Oliver :)
Marcel from G-Pop and Oliver again. Geez Oliver get over yourself.

Dominick (my guitarist) and me being sexy. Ha!!
Viktoria from ROBA....Ahhh she is sooo cute and funny. Love her!
I also want to thank my mom. Even with her being so far away she always knows how to make me feel better and how to cheer me up.She sent me lyrics to this song and she said that she wished she would have sang this to me every night. I love and miss you mom, and I promise to take you shopping and buy you your own salon once I make the $$$. We will never lose the faith and I will never stop working for what I want.

baby look at me
And tell me what you see.
You aint seen the best of me yet
Give me time, I'll make you forget the rest.
I've got more in me, and you can set it free
I can catch the moon in my hand
Don't you know who I am?
Remember my name,

(Fame)
I'm gonna live forever
I'm gonna learn how to fly (High)
I feel it coming together
People will see me and cry (Fame)
I'm gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame (Fame)
I'm gonna live forever
Baby, remember my name
Remember, Remember, Remember, Remember,
Remember, Remember, Remember, Remember

Baby hold me tight
Cause you can make it right.
You can shoot me straight to the top
Give me love and take all I've got to give
Baby I'll be tough
Too much is not enough
I'll grab your heart till it breaks
You got what it takes.

(Fame)
I'm gonna live forever
I'm gonna learn how to fly (High)
I feel it coming together
People will see me and cry (Fame)
I'm gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame (Fame)
I'm gonna live forever
Baby, remember my name
Remember, Remember, Remember, Remember,
Remember, Remember, Remember, Remember

I wake up in the morning feelin' like P Diddy

I'm finally excited that I feel use to the time change! It's really frustrating to me because it seems to take me a little longer...errr! The past week has been so great. I've spent some time in the studio with my man Urs and writing here and there. I'm hoping to be inspired by something really amazing. I also had a few gigs this week at Discos. I wasn't sure how they were going to go and was always second guessing myself because 18-25 yr olds are a freaking tough age. You never know how they are going to act. The shows turned out to be sooo amazing and really fun! I fed a lot off the crowd and I was able to really let loose. After the shows I'm able to party with everyone for awhile...until my manager forces me out the door! Haha I always beg him for 10 more minutes! Last night I was a mess walking back in the hotel at 3am I had champage all in my hair and body, I was dripping in sweat, my stockings were ripped in sooo many place and I found a few new bruises on my arms and legs! Its a good thing I don't drink or I would have been in bigger trouble. I find these gigs really awesome because even though the crowd and I had a language barrier, we understood each other and we became one. What a feeling...! Can't wait for another Disco tonight! I leave for Cannes early tomorrow. When I say early...I freaking mean early. So I plan on not sleeping at all tonight! Ha!

Back in the swing of things!

I finally got to Europe on Sunday, and we already got  right to work. I've been practicing in the studio for my performances this week, recording an EPK and writing and learning new songs. So glad to be back :-D

I just learned that I'll acually be performing at Midem this year at a showcase with Aura Dione. Aura is sooo freaking awesome plus she has the #1 single in Europe right now with "I will love you Monday." I can't wait to meet this girl. The most amazing thing is....she loves shoes just like me!! Haha.

Click here to check out Aura!

I have an early morning so I must get some sleep! Goodnight!

Can you tell I was a little nervous! Ha!

Mr. Warhol

Don't pay any attention to what they write about you. Just measure it in inches.

How true. Don't ever let anyone try to tear you down with words. People who try to bring you down are just unhappy with their own lives. I say let's make the world a better place and offer kindness only.

I'm also going to follow my own advice.

p.s. I'm done packing! Whoo hoo!

The Little Prince

You are responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

This is a quote from one of my favorite books, The Little Prince. It is a children book that I bought in Paris last year from a street vendor. I never expected the book to have so much meaning to me. I find myself reading this book a lot lately. It has many lessons for adults, about whats really important in life. It's about seeing things through the eyes of a child. We need to start looking beyond the surface of things...

Do yourself a HUGE favor and go buy this book. It is only with one's heart that one can see clearly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.

"He who would travel happily must travel light".....man does this quote from the book apply to me right now! With this thought in mind I must go rethink my packing situation. :-) Leaving tomorrow!
